Your privacy is important to us and maintaining your trust and confidence is one of our highest priorities. We respect your right to keep your personal information confidential and understand your desire to avoid unwanted solicitations. Types of Information We Collect

We use that information to prepare the acknowledgment of your donations and/or to send communications materials to you.

      • donations online

    If you make a donation, we also may collect your credit card and account information. This information is kept secure in our financial database and is never disclosed to anyone. Only those employees who have a legitimate business purpose for accessing and handling this information are given authorization to do so. The unauthorized access or use of such information by a PRASAD employee or volunteer is prohibited and constitutes grounds for disciplinary action.

    Cookies

    We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

    Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, PayPal). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.

    Your Access to and Control Over Information

    You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:

        • Change/correct any data we have about you.

        • Have us delete any data we have about you.

      Parties to Whom We Disclose Information

      As a general rule, we do not disclose personal information about our donors or former donors to anyone. However, to the extent permitted by law, certain nonpublic information about you may be disclosed in the following situations:

         

          • To comply with a validly issued and enforceable subpoena or summons.

          • In the course of a review of our organization’s practices under the authorization of state or internal auditors.

          • As part of any actual or threatened legal proceedings or alternative dispute resolution proceedings either initiated by or against us, provided we disclose only the information necessary to file, pursue, or defend against the lawsuit and take reasonable precautions to ensure that the information disclosed does not become a matter of public record.

          • To provide information to affiliates of the organization that perform services or functions for us in conjunction with our services to you, but only if we have a contractual agreement with the other party which prohibits that party from disclosing or using the information other than for the purposes for which it was disclosed

          • To comply with IRS reporting requirements as specified on IRS Form 990.

        Confidentiality and Security of Nonpublic Personal Information

        We do not share, sell, or rent your individual personal information with or to any individual or organization except as permitted under this Privacy Policy, pursuant to your express permission, or as required by law.

        Except as otherwise described in this notice, we restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to employees of our organization and other parties who must use that information to provide us with mailing services. Their right to further disclose and use the information is limited by the policies of our organization, applicable law, and nondisclosure agreements where appropriate. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations to guard your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or premature destruction.

        Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

        We use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, and only employees who need this information to perform a specific job (for example, processing a donation) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

        Data Quality/Access

        To change or modify information previously provided to our site, or to “opt-out” of receiving our mailings, is available to you at any time that you request it.         Third-party Service Providers

        PRASAD may employ contractors or other third parties. By submitting any information to The PRASAD Project, you agree to submit your personal information to The PRASAD Project and the third-party service providers who provide services to our organization. The PRASAD Project engages service providers who commit to use reasonable measures to protect the privacy of our Sites’ users in a manner consistent with our policies.

        Business Transition

        If The PRASAD Project goes through a business transition, such as a reorganization, acquisition by another entity, or transfer of all or a substantial portion of our assets, we reserve the right to transfer your personal information to any successor entity in connection with such business transition.

        Links to Other Web Sites

        The PRASAD Project is not responsible for the content, services, privacy policies, or practices of any web sites to which we may hyperlink from our site. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

        Note to Parents

        Our site does not target children (under age 13) for collection of information online. It is intended for use only by persons 18 or older, emancipated minors, or those who possess legal parental or guardian consent and are fully able and competent to enter into and be legally bound by these Terms. No information should be submitted to or posted on this website by visitors under 13 years of age. If a child under 13 years of age wishes to submit any information, this should be done only by the child’s parents or with their consent.

        Updates and Notification of Changes to This Privacy Policy

        We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Users will be made aware of these changes by the change of the version number and effective date at the top of this policy. If we make a change that we reasonably believe may materially affect how we collect, disclose, or otherwise share your personal information, we will post a separate notice to that effect on our home page with a link to the revised policy. Any changes made to this Privacy Policy will apply to any personal information that you provide to us on or after the effective date of such changes and any information previously collected from you by The PRASAD Project.

          How We Share Your Information

          We adhere to the highest standards of ethical practices in all our operations and is dedicated to protecting the privacy of all visitors to our website.

          Except as disclosed below, we don’t sell, barter, give away, rent, or permit anyone outside The PRASAD Project to use or access your personal information and in all cases we only share your personal information where it is in the legitimate interest of furthering the work of The PRASAD Project.

          We occasionally use independent contractors and third-party agents, affiliates, and partners to perform functions such as marketing, analytics, providing customer service, etc., on our behalf. These entities have access to the personal information needed to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of any personal information collected from the website. They are restricted from using, selling, distributing, or altering this data in any way other than to provide the requested services to The PRASAD Project.

          We may also occasionally share your personal information with our licensees. We may also use or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to applicable law or comply with legal process served on us or the website.

          We are committed to processing your information in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), a European Regulation concerning the use and processing of personal information.             The website is published in the United States and is subject to laws of the United States. If you are located in a country outside the United States and voluntarily submit personal information to us, you thereby consent to the general use of such information as provided in this Privacy Policy and to the transfer of that information to, and/or storage of that information in, the United States.

            We reserve the right to modify or amend the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time without notice. Your continued use of our website will mean you accept those changes.
