PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program (PRASAD CDHP) is now the sole entity to have received the New York State Dental Foundation “Give Kids A Smile Award” four times. The award was given in recognition of PRASAD CDHP’s excellence in providing oral health care for children in New York State.

At the ceremony, Dr. G.K. Gleason, Chairman of the New York State Dental Foundation, commented, “This is the fourth time that the NYSDF has given this award to this organization, which is more than any other group in this state” PRASAD CDHP previously received this award in 2009, 2011 and 2014.
Dr. Cecilia Escarra, Executive Director of The PRASAD Project, and Dr. Swati Desai, PRASAD CDHP Trustee, accepted the award. “Care is not just about fixing teeth or providing dental care. Care is about people,” said Dr. Escarra. “I want to thank all the school nurses and Sullivan County organizations for your support of our dental program.”
Through its mobile dental clinic, PRASAD CDHP has been providing dental health care and education to children of all ages at schools across Sullivan County and parts of Ulster County for 19 years. Thanks to its dedicated staff and strong working partnerships, PRASAD CDHP has provided services to more than 76,000 children since 1998.
